Spent the weekend at Appleby Horse Fair and shot a lot (too much!). It has been a couple of years since I've been to the Fair and I enjoyed it. Bumped into loads of friendly togs too. I think I got a couple of shots to add to my Appleby project and they will appear on this website in due course.
After most of the day at Appleby I met up with Kris Williams and Lee and Eifion from Welshot Imaging at Another Place, Antony Gormley's installation at Crosby, Liverpool. Luckily the sun shone bright and I got a few pix. To be honest, I was rather tired after Appleby and I am sure I could have done more if I had been fresher.
The shot here was done on an infrared converted Nikon D700 - the conversion done by Advanced Camera Services. I've only had the body a short while and still getting used to it. Raw, preset white-balance, good lenses and manual exposure is the way to go - but flare can be an issue even when the sun is nowhere in the frame. I love the full-frame quality though.
